FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (1981)

This is the best BOND film produced since ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE. It is also Roger Moore's very best BOND film. Apart from that idiotic pre-credit sequence and the ludicrous antics during the finale, this film is so far removed from the juvenile hijinks that ruined MOONRAKER as to be almost a whole new BOND incarnation. It's still Roger Moore as Agent 007, but he is in very fine form here and is a real joy to watch. It is truly a pity that this wasn't his BOND swan song. He could've finished in style. Roger Moore is provided with a superb supporting cast and one of the very best Bond Girls in Carole Bouquet's Melina Havelock. The film's only real blemish in its cast is the pubescent Lynn-Holly Johnson. She is really annoying and is out of her league by way of acting talent. It is wonderful to see Bond give this pipsqueak the cold brush off she deserves!
